superintendent's Message

Elwood Families, I hope everyone is staying home and staying healthy.  Things are changing once again… As you probably know by now, the Governor is closing schools through the end of the school year.  This is devastating to all of us; however, a great time to remember that safety always comes first. Please see below for updates and let me know if you have any questions.  Again, I appreciate your patience and flexibility during this difficult time.

Elwood Elementary and Elwood Intermediate Schools

We are on Spring Break through Friday, April 10th.  April 13th and 14th will be Teacher Work Days. Parents will be able to pick up learning packets on Tuesday, April 14th from 3:00pm-7:00pm and on Wednesday, April 15th from 8:00am-6:00pm.  Parents will also be asked to drop off learning packets at this time.

We will do the same thing the week of May 4th.  May 4th and 5th will be Teacher Work Days to create learning packets through the last student day, May 29th.  Parents will be able to pick up materials on Tuesday, May 5th from 3:00pm-7:00pm and on Wednesday, May 6th from 8:00am-6:00pm.  We will work out a plan in May for students to get materials from their desks, lockers, etc.

Elwood Junior Senior High School

We are on Spring Break through Friday, April 10th.  April 13th and 14th will be Teacher Work Days. eLearning will begin again on Wednesday, April 15th.  Students that do not have internet access will get their learning packet delivered to them. May 4th and 5th will be Teacher Work Days to continue creating eLearning materials through the last student day, May 29th.  We will work out a plan in May for students to get materials from their desks, lockers, etc.

We will be communicating a plan for students that need help with their device.  There are still a lot of questions out there regarding graduation, schedules for next year, etc.  We will send out more information as we’re able.
