Free Eye Screenings in Preschool/Daycare:
We have completed the K-2 eye exams, now it is time for our littles to have screenings! The Indiana Lions Eye Bank will be conducting free eye screenings through “Operation Kid Sight” here at EES for our preschool and daycare children! These exams check for a variety of eye conditions in hopes of catching any potential problems for early treatment and/or correction. You do not need to be present during the exam. Consent forms have been sent home for you to fill out and must be received by the date of the exam, Monday January 22nd. Please feel free to contact the school if you have any questions or need a consent form. You won't want your child to miss out on this opportunity!

Surveys:

Every year we conduct a preschool and early learning center survey to get your feedback. That will be coming home soon. Please fill it out and send it back so that we may consider your thoughts as we continue to improve! We need your input! It is getting time to do a K-2 survey as well, so stay tuned!

We are encouraging parents to obtain the “expanded background check” for $16.95 which will last for five years and you may volunteer and visit more than 8 hours! Do You Need Additional Assistance?
Please call 765-552-4562 to speak with Trisha Sullivan, Health Access Worker at St.Vincent Mercy Hospital if you need assistance with:
· Finding a doctor
· Applying for health coverage (Medicaid, HIP, Medicare, HHW)
· Applying for public programs (Food Stamps, TANF, Social Security, WIC, Breast and Cervical Cancer Program) or Connections to other community resources and agencies for assistance.  Health Access Workers are here to help you with all your needs. When you come into the hospital or doctor's office for services, be sure to let the staff know you are  working with Trisha Sullivan. That way, we can better serve you by working together as a team to help you remove any barriers to you and your family’s health.

Update on Immunizations:
Every child (K-12) must have 2 Varicella (chickenpox vaccines) by the beginning of next school year. Please check with your family doctors or Mrs. Bock if you are not sure about your child’s immunizations. You may also want to check on Hepatitis A for your little ones at home.

Internet Essentials:
Internet - Some of you were asking about the Internet Essentials program that allows parents of children on the free or reduced lunch plan to qualify for this internet program for $9.95 a month. You may also take advantage of buying a low-cost computer and receive Internet training at no additional charge. The number to call is 1-855-846-8376.  Hope that helps!
